Visa Regulations

It is essential that you confirm current visa formalities before you arrive in Bali. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of your arrival. It is advised you check visa regulations as the information below may have changed (updated January 2010).

Requirements and types of visa before arrival

  • Visa on Arrival: Citizens of several countries (please check at the nearest Indonesian Embassy) will be able to apply for a VoA valid for either 7 or 30 days upon arrival. A 7-day visa costs US$10 and a 30-day visa costs US$25.
  • Visa Free: Citizens of Singapore and a few other countries can receive a nonextendable 30-day visa for free upon arrival.
  • Visa in Advance: Citizens of countries neither on the VoA nor Visa-Free lists are required to apply for a visa overseas before travelling to Indonesia. Details vary by country, so you should contact the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate in order to determine processing fees and time.

Nationals of ALL countries planning to stay for more than 30 days in Indonesia also have to apply for the appropriate visa at an overseas Indonesian Consulate or Foreign Mission before departing for Indonesia.

Please check your visa requirements at the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate before travelling.
